In 1999, the Columbine School shooting was one of the most shocking and brutal public shootings in American history, one that unfortunately set the standard for all the rest to come. Nineteen years later, as similar public shootings have continued to occur and increase in frequency, why haven't we asked, Why does this keep happening? Why hasn't our government tried to fix the problem, besides with more gun legislation and increased illegal surveillance? And why are we in a perpetual war half-way around the world fighting suicide terrorists when we've got the same problem here?
